Released in 1992, Stick Around for Joy is the second and final studio album from The Sugarcubes, following their breakout success in the late 1980s. The record leans into a more polished and pop-oriented sound compared to their earlier work, while still retaining the band’s off-kilter art rock energy and surreal lyrical style.

Fronted by Björk, the album highlights a transitional moment in her career, just before she launched her solo work with Debut. Tracks like “Hit” and “Walkabout” showcase a stronger emphasis on melody and accessibility, while songs such as “Hetero Scum” and “Vitamin” keep the band’s eccentric, experimental edge intact.
