Black Flag - DAMAGED LP

Damaged is the landmark 1981 debut album from Black Flag and one of the defining records of American hardcore punk. Recorded with vocalist Dez Cadena on the first half and Henry Rollins on the second, the album captures the band at their most raw and confrontational, combining Greg Ginn’s jagged guitar work with Chuck Dukowski’s driving bass and a relentless rhythm section.

From the furious opening of “Rise Above” through “Six Pack,” “TV Party,” “Police Story,” and the devastating “Damaged I,” the album is stripped down, abrasive, and uncompromising. Damaged helped establish the sound and attitude of hardcore punk while becoming an essential document of the early Los Angeles punk scene.
